Next steps in the immediate:
Next Steps With LIMs → Getting Canada Closer to High-Speed Transit System
I want to see and be part of building a high-speed public transit system in Canada over the next 10 years
Here’s my next steps to get there:
- Approach more companies & linear motor engineers to see what industry work looks like vs my dorm projects
-
keep learning about other ways people built LIMs
-
bring my ideas to companies working on high-speed transit to validate my ideas & learn about how the industry is operating high-speed transit tech.
-
I want to be connected w people from all the major hyperloop companies & high speed too

TransPod - met 3
high speed train:
- Amtrak — met 2
- Alstom
- VIA & Siemens
- Hitachi Rail
- CNR
GRT & ministry of transit
- More physical prototypes to prove my ideas
- more physical models inches wide, see if they work in reality as well in virtual models and simulations. — proofs of concepts, and continue with more 3D simulations
- Get REALLY good at SolidWorks, FEMM (2D), ANSYS, python & calculations w numpy
- Find a technical mentors to validate my ideas
- Understand what it takes to get long-term commitment for public transit from the government & public
- There is a consistent flow of money for road maintenance & construction, but public transit is lacking here. Without commitment from the government and the public, public transit will not grow as much as it could
- Look at specifically how funding is organized in well funded industries, and public transit around the world
Long term steps
- get a summer co-op at a high-speed train or hyperloop company
- accelerate the implementation of high speed transit by making meaningful actions:
- builds of better lims (focused on ultra-high speed, efficiency, sustainability, cheap)
- create reports of ideas for better modes of funding
- thinking more of keeping public demand during & post-construction of these systems. & how we can use it by integrating this transit so well into their lives that people would rather use this than their cars
